Coming to Netflix

Netflix, once exclusively a streaming service, has now produced various award-winning original programmes. Here are 3 Netflix Originals I am most excited for in the next few months.

1. Marvel’s Iron Fist
Available on 17th March 2017

The final Defender is nearly here! Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage have all been introduced and now the time has come for the fourth member of the team to make his debut on screen. Daniel Rand returns to New York City after being missing for years. He fights crime with his kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the power of the fiery Iron Fist. Based on the quality of content for the other Marvel TV shows I’m sure it will surpass my expectations.

Available on 31st March 2017

The story follows Clay Jensen in his quest to uncover the story behind his classmate Hannah’s decision to end her own life. He finds a mysterious box on his porch containing cassette tapes recorded by Hannah. The series is based on a book written by Jay Asher which I read in my early teenage years. Not only was the story so interesting but the way it was structured was so unique with each chapter as a different side of the cassette tapes. I hope it remains true to the book and isn’t changed to be more dramatic.

3. Girlboss
Available on 21st April 2017

A biopic all about the rise of Sophia, portrayed by Britt Robertson, who discovers a passion for fashion and becomes an unlikely businesswoman in the process. As her business grows she must learn how to cope with life as her own boss. The series is based on the book written by Nasty Gal‘s founder Sophia Amoruso. Ugly Betty was my last fashion-related TV show but that was years ago, so I am really looking forward to this series.

What Netflix Original are you looking forward to the most? Are there any have I missed?
